Resilient Seeds

Due to the government shutdown, millions of people are going without their necessary SNAP benefits this month. Working families have had their food benefits suspended, and risk going hungry this winter.

This strikes very close to home - because many of our friends, family members, and neighbors, use SNAP to help buy groceries.

With Thanksgiving approaching, many of us are asking:

“How can I help?”

We’re collecting seeds, pots, and basic gardening supplies to help our neighbors start their own resilience gardens, at home.

For millennia, growing food has empowered people to fight hunger and build self-reliance — but now, many people lack the supplies to begin.

How you can help:

  • Donate seeds (even expired ones — they stay ~80% viable)

  • Share pots or small containers

  • Consider giving dirt, or any extra gardening supplies

Donations will support seed distribution this winter and free seedlings in early spring along Bergenline Avenue — a community hit hard this year by food insecurity and immigration-related trauma.

Let’s support one another through this difficult time.

Donate seeds here — and consider sharing with your neighbors, too.

Together, we can help ensure every family has what they need to grow food, and nurture hope, at home.
